What we collect
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Account: name, e-mail, mobile number (optional), password (stored hashed) | To sign you in and run your account. |
| Household data you add: family members, medicines and doses, bills and spends, tasks, calendar items, meals, fitness entries, shopping lists | To provide the app and keep your devices in sync. |
| Device token for notifications | To deliver reminders through Firebase Cloud Messaging. |
| Basic technical logs (time, app version, error details) | To keep the service secure and fix faults. |
What stays on your phone
If you allow it, Gruhamm looks at bank and bill messages (SMS, in the sideloaded Android build only) or Gmail receipts (read-only, if you connect Gmail) to find bills and spends. This reading happens on your device. We do not upload the message or e-mail text. Only the result you see in the app, such as “Electricity ₹1,840, due Friday”, is saved to your household.
The Google Play version of the app does not request SMS permission.
Use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Gmail access is read-only, optional and can be revoked in your Google account at any time.
How we use it
- To run Gruhamm and its features for you and your household.
- To send reminders and notices you have switched on.
- To protect the service from abuse and to fix problems.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your private household details for advertising.
Who it’s shared with
Only with service providers that help us run the app, under their own terms:
- Hosting: our servers, which store your account and household data.
- Google Firebase: push notifications. Google Sign-In and Gmail: only if you choose them.
- AI model providers: see below.
- Google AdMob: only if ads are shown; see below.
We may disclose information if the law requires it.
AI features
The assistant runs only when you ask it something. To answer, the relevant part of your question and the household facts you have allowed are sent to an AI model provider, then discarded by them under our agreement with them and not used to train models. You control what it can use in Settings → AI and privacy, and can turn it off entirely.
Ads and shopping links
The app may show clearly marked ads and links to partner shops. Ads are served by Google AdMob and may use an advertising ID on your device, which you can reset or opt out of in Android settings. Shopping links may be affiliate links: if you buy, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Nothing is purchased inside Gruhamm, and the partner shop handles your order and data.
Keeping and deleting
We keep your data while your account is open. Delete your account in the app (Profile → Household settings → Delete account) and your account and household data are removed from our servers; encrypted backups roll off within 30 days. Details are on the Support page.
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored on access-controlled servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect it.
Children
Gruhamm is for adults to manage a household. Children appear only as profiles that a parent adds. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13.
Your choices
- See and edit your information in the app.
- Delete your account at any time.
- Switch off notifications, SMS or Gmail reading, and AI in settings.
- Ask us for a copy of your data or a correction by e-mail.
We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do; for important changes we will tell you in the app.
